It is a great honor to announce the 13th Annual PhD Project Information Systems Doctoral Students Association (ISDSA) Conference! The PhD Project ISDSA conference provides a national networking opportunity for African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, and Native Americans in the process of pursuing Doctoral Degrees in Information Systems at Universities in the United States of America. This year’s conference will be held in Toronto, Canada at the Sheraton's Centre Toronto Hotel, August 12-14, 2008, just prior to the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS). The theme for our conference is Run, Grow, Transform: Transitioning from Doctoral Student to Faculty Member. On behalf of the Planning Committee, we have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in this exciting event that is sure to be informative and interesting.
Thanks to the support of many prestigious Information Systems faculty, the ISDSA conference program will include a total of 8 faculty presentation sessions covering various topics ranging from successful research practices to targeted advice for navigating academia. In addition, our program will include student-led information sessions for new students, students preparing for comps, and students preparing for the job market, as well as student paper presentations. Please see the conference agenda for more details.
We warmly invite you to share and enjoy with us a motivating program. We would like to especially invite you to join our members, PhD Project alumni, invited Information Systems journal editors, and other special invited guests at The PhD Project ISDSA annual dinner on Thursday, August 14, 2008. The annual dinner has proven to be a wonderful opportunity for doctoral students to begin networking with faculty and other doctoral students, form mentoring relationships, and celebrate the accomplishments of the ISDSA members and friends.
Registration information will be available in mid-April. Please read your registration information carefully. If you have any questions, please contact Anita C. English at: acenglish@kpmg.com.
On behalf of the 2008 Planning Committee, we are very enthusiastic about this year’s conference and look forward to seeing you there!
Very truly yours,
Renee Pratt Toston.
