CONFERENCE REGISTRATION
The two-day conference will begin with breakfast on Friday morning and conclude at noon on Saturday. The business meeting of the Academy of Accounting Historians will occur during the conference. The conference will take place at the Hyatt Crystal City at Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia. The registration fee, the cost of which will be announced in the future, will be waived for doctoral students wishing to attend. and which are planning to expand to include additional leadership
materials including the papers of J. Michael Cook, Joel Demski and
John Simmons. These three distinguished accountants have served
variously as Chair of the AICPA Board (Cook), Presidents of the
American Accounting Association (Demski and Simmons) and have
been selected as members of the Accounting Hall of Fame (Cook and
Demski).
At present the collection

"News from Spain"
On February 6, 2003 an informal Conference on accounting history will
take place in the premises of the former University of Osuna, near Seville,
organized by the Universidad Pablo de Olavide of Seville. Further information

At the 2003 Annual Congress of the European Accounting Association
that will be held in Seville the days 2-4 April there will be as habitual parallel
sessions on accounting history. More than 30 papers have been presented to these
sessions. Besides will be held a Panel on accounting history under the title:
"Research fields of Accounting History. Only Accounting Business? Why?".

On May 9, 2003 the Spanish Association of University Accounting Professors (ASEPUC) will organize the?rd Conference on Accounting Theory. The venue will be the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In this Conference will be presented papers on history of?accounting theory. History:
The Academy of Accounting Historians was formed in 1973. It was granted a charter
as a not-for-profit corporation in the State of Alabama and, subsequently, was
granted tax-exempt status in the United States.
Objectives:
The objectives of the Academy are to encourage research, publication, teaching
and personal interchanges in all phases of Accounting History and its interrelation
with business and economic history.
Membership:
Membership in the Academy Membership in the Academy is open to persons in all
countries who are interested in Accounting History. The current membership (Individuals
and Institutional Affiliates) totals approximately 875, representing more than
34 different countries. A membership directory is distributed to Academy members
annually as a part of the membership benefits.
