Interfunctional Management Program Meets NBPMC Standards
The National Bureau of Professional Management Consultants (NBPMC)
has endorsed the Interfunctional Management Consulting Program,
effective September 1. The purpose of the NBPMC is to establish
a national certification program through the registration of consultants
to management. The NBPMC promotes education, competence, performance,
and ethics in the practice of consulting. Through its endorsement,
a letter of appointment/affiliated member status will be issued
upon request to all students in the Interfunctional Management
Consulting Program.
A Personal View of Business in Europe
An increasing number of students are taking advantage of the exchange
programs Rutgers Graduate School of Management offers in France,
England, and The Netherlands. "I could go on and on about
this experience," reports KIM JOHNSON, MBA student.
"The entire trip was terrific-culturally and educationally.
I learned a great deal about the European business community,
and being in France gave all who participated hands-on experience
with the people, the culture, and the businesses-all of which
brought to life what we learned in class. Allowing family members
to accompany students is one of the most positive parts of the
program. Our guides included family members in every activity,
except class. Tours is a wonderful little city that offers easy
access to Paris and many tourist excursions throughout the Loire
Valley. I would recommend the experience to other students."
Information on international exchange programs is available from
Student Services, (201) 648-5482.

The questionnaire aided research at Batterymarch, the results of which were published in two 1989 articles in the Financial Analysts Journal and in the winter 1990 issue of Management Research from Rutgers. Intent on identifying investor risk profiles, Time Life Insurance Limited, a South African financial service firm, has adapted the questionnaire for its own purposes, crediting Farrelly and her chief collaborator at Batterymarch, Dean LeBaron.
Farrelly published an essay, "Happenings on my Watch,"
in the Review Press-Reporter of July 25. How we choose
to spend time is the subject of the essay. She also co-authored
a paper with Gary Kleinman of NJIT on work values in the accounting
profession, which was presented at the 14th annual conference
of the International Association of Management in early August.

which is central to the practice of management today.
